Welcome to geoNOMAD. This website was originally conceived as a source of information and inspiration for independent travellers, but we apologise for not updating it for many years. What was not foreseen at the beginning was the rise of so-called 'influencers' who have invaded practically every corner of the world to declare their 'intimate' knowledge of places, people and events. Their presence on social media and their 'wisdom' about travel have erased the relevance of sites like geoNOMAD. We therefore decided to remove the information that was previously provided. Although most of this information was still relevant, some topics had become dated.

Through the years, COVID and several important personal journeys have shaped new priorities and creative efforts. We have worked diligently to publish more than 25 photo books on a wide variety of subjects. These books are not only exhibitions of photographic images, but also include discussions of visual perception and subjects such as urbanism and vernacular expression related to the images. Another unfortunate evolution of the internet is abuse of email services. For many months, and for the time being, the ability to send a Postcard from Canada has been disconnected. We found flaws in our eMail system, and our hosting service installed new security measures that require additional changes.

Nonetheless, you can still enjoy the various images on our pages. We will maintain and possibly add to Postcards from Canada. You could still email your friends and family and send them the URL links so that they can share your interest.
